Nokia World is the company’s annual event, where new devices, software solutions and the company’s objectives are unveiled.
During Nokia World 2011 in London, Nokia has announced its first Windows Phone 7-based smartphone in the form of the Lumia 710, both featuring 3.7-inch touchscreen displays and 1.4GHz single-core Qualcomm CPUs. Held October 26-27 in London, this year’s event is particularly significant, due to the release of the first Nokia Windows-based smartphones, expected since Nokia inked a deal with Microsoft in a somewhat surprising move this February. The Lumia 710, comes with a 3.7-inch 800 x 480 ClearBlack TFT display.

Apple’s new iPhone 4S

Apple‘s new smartphone gets a brand new dual-core processor, an 8 megapixel camera capable of also shooting full high definition video, and a new personal assistant application that uses voice recognition. The iPhone 4S retains the ground-breaking Retina display technology and glass back of its predecessor. The 4S also promises up to double the previous download speeds and will be available on over 100 carriers worldwide. The new smartphone‘s battery life is claimed to offer either eight hours of 3G talk time, six hours of browsing, nine hours on Wi-Fi, ten hours of video playback, or 40 hours of music.

Featuring Beats Audio technology and a remote-equipped pair of Beats by Dr. Dre earphones, the Sensation XE packs a faster dual-core 1.5GHz CPU and a higher capacity 1730 mAh battery. It comes as the first product from HTC to be manufactured in partnership with Beats Electronics. HTC‘s 4.3-inch Sensation flagship smartphone will soon be available in an upgraded version, in the form of the Sensation XE. After the Beats by Dr. Dre in-ear headphones are connected, the phone automatically detects the Beats headset in order to optimize the output and improve the audio experience.
